Refined Hospitality.

Located in the heart of Marylebone, Roketsu is a Japanese restaurant that blends refined kappo dining with the timeless beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.

The interior was created by the master carpenters of Nakamura Sotoji Komuten, renowned for their work in sukiya architecture. Materials handcrafted in Kyoto were transported to London, where the same artisans assembled the space with meticulous care.

Here, guests can experience the serene aesthetics of Japanese design within the vibrant city of London.

Counter Crafted

by Master Carpenters

At the heart of Roketsu lies a stunning 7-metre counter made from a single slab of 300-year-old hinoki cypress. Surrounded by the gentle scent and warmth of natural wood, guests can enjoy a truly immersive kappo experience.

Our journey is guided by the same spirit of craftsmanship and hospitality that we have always cherished since the beginning, now reimagined for today’s guests.

Our chefs prepare each dish right in front of you — engaging in conversation, grilling over binchō charcoal or straw fire, and shaping sushi with precision and elegance. It is a dining experience that celebrates craftsmanship, interaction, and the art of simplicity.

The Hidden Dining Area

On the lower ground floor, a tranquil dining area invites guests to enjoy Japanese cuisine alongside a remarkable wine collection.

From your table, you can view the wine cellar, which showcases one of London’s most distinguished selections. Among them is the exceptional vertical collection of Château Mouton Rothschild vintages (1968-2006) — a rare sight even among top restaurants.

With over 500 wines available, including limited and fine bottles served by the glass, Roketsu has earned a reputation as one of the few Japanese restaurants in London offering a true wine-pairing experience.
